Laymen, unembarrassed by that professional pride which obliges medicos to look down upon "horse-doctors," morticians and the like, were less scornful. The annual report of Dr. John R. Mohler of the U. S. Bureau of Animal Industry was also published last week and it showed that the well-paid veterinarian profession is not only uncrowded but actually undermanned.
