Recently, when Sir Samuel's policy of making peace between Italy and Ethiopia crashed and he resigned as Foreign Secretary (TIME, Dec. 30), Mr. Gandhi was prompt with a letter of personal sympathy posted to No. 18 Cadogan Gardens.
