Although defeated, the University team played a very satisfactory game. The fielding was consistently good and several brilliant plays were made, especially by the outfield. Kernan excelled in this respect, for he made three difficult catches of long flies, at least one of which would have been good for a home run. In batting the men showed an encouraging amount of confidence, and hit the ball hard.
