...against Yale last year, while Yale has back winner of only 26 1-2 points. On the other hand Yale has had the more successful indoor season this year. The 1910 men available for both teams are very evenly matched and can be allowed to balance each other. The result of the meet seems to hang largely on the improvement shown by the second string men of last year's teams. As far as can be judged at present the following would appear to be a reasonable estimate of the resources of the two teams...

...gymnasium. Hockey can only exist at the present time when there is ice, and even with a rink, nobody would want to play it in warm weather. These different forms of athletics are to be given up entirely (for to my mind that would be the result of an abolition of intercollegiate athletics) merely because they happen to be sports fitted for indoor work. Yet, the three major sports would go on all winter, and would then have only gotten through their preliminary practice. It seems unfair that these teams should retain their privileges, when the winter sports are being...

...winter supposed to do his college work conscientiously, while the basketball player neglects his? Such a supposition is ob- viously absurd. Either both athletes will study, or both will not do any work. If one has to give up his athletics while the other keeps on exercising, the result would be that he who had no incentive to keep off probation would be the one to neglect study. Hence, the best way to keep men off probation is to allow them to participate in some form of athletics; and if one is allowed...

...that season? Here's a simpler explanation of those absences-the debilitation of re-echoing defeat, nothing but defeat! It is a natural time to hide one's light under a bushel. The cry of splendid showing gives no satisfaction. It is a poor thing, though a logical result of undergraduate reactionary sentiment, when they consider what the team has done in spite of the meddlesome interference of the Faculty and Corporation. Therefore I say instead of dipping a wrinkled thumb into the situation which at the best has been a hodge-podge mess of pottage, better to stand aside...

Yale's single score was the result of a scrimmage in front of the goal, in which Jennings shot the ball through. In the second half the ball was kept well in Yale's territory but the University forwards were unable to score. For the University team Wendell and Munroe played a good defensive game, while Brooks was very fast and aggressive on the offence. Hart, Jennings and Wick were the most effective for Yale...
