There is in New York at the present time an after-the-theatre amusement place called the "Coccanut Grove." It is as disgusting and immoral an exhibition as has ever been staged in America. It is, of course, the result of its very much less harmful predecessor, the "Midnight Frolic," as that was the more risque result of its predecessor, "Castles in the Air." That there should be such a place as the "Cocoanut Grove" in New York is not surprising--all great cities have their "tough joints"; and there is always an audience that will flock in great numbers...
...Medley of Heirs" is a musical comedy written by J. W. D. Seymour '17, with music by R. T. Squire '18. It concerns the complications resulting from an agreement between two rulers of adjoining kingdoms, made upon the arrival of an heir in each of the royal families, and providing for the marriage of the children when they become of age. Let us examine, for a moment, this contention. Germany declares, to be sure, that the lives of Americans entering the recently established war zone are thereby endangered...
...distinguished themselves by scoring two goals while the University seven was unable to secure one. The second team showed a more aggressive spirit than did the first, and in addition the brilliant playing and stick work of T. K. Fisher '17 and R. Baldwin '17 was responsible for the result. It is probable that if the play had been continued longer the first team would have come out in the lead...
