...that passion is presently in short supply in the real world. The ranks of talented individuals choosing government service as a career has been in steady decline for several years now. "West Wing" is not shy about revealing the dark underbelly of American politics. But neither does it retreat from that now almost archaic notion that government can be a positive force in people's lives.
