Dartmouth will hold her annual Carnival of winter sports on February 13, 14, and 15. This announcement, made by the Dartmouth Outing Club, marks the return of the college to its normal life, and it is the intention of the club to make this year's event equal to any of its seven predecessors. In addition to the intercollegiate contests in skiing, snow-shoeing, skating, and hockey, there will be a number of indoor games, of which basketball will be the most important. He served in Mexico with the Villa Punitive Expedition from March, 1916, to February, 1917, and was selected by General Pershing to command the famous Apache Indian Scouts. Soon after his return from Mexico Colonel Shannon was detailed as Professor of Military Science and Tactics at the University and was on duty here in the spring and summer of 1917.
