Controversial results from the largest study on silicone breast implants indicate there is no evidence connecting implants with rheumatoid arthritis or any other disease previously linked to the product. The Mayo Clinic review of 749 women who had implants, and 1,498 who did not, found a proportionately equal number of cases of disease in both groups when other disorders developed.
