Downer was hit by a ball from Walden while running to second, and declared out; Walden was caught by Latham to Thayer; Brown hit hard to Holden, who jumped for the ball, but made an excusable error; stole second, and scored on a wild throw by Tyng. Harvard scored four runs on base-hits by Howe and Nunn, a sacrifice by Tyng, and errors by Brown, Walden, and Hutchison...
Seventh Inning. - Ripley took first on a fumble by Latham, but fell a victim to Tyng and Latham. Tyng made a remarkable one-handed foul fly catch, which he was obliged to jump for. Harvard nothing...
Howe had Carter completely under his sway, making three base-hits and two sacrifice hits out of six times to the bat. Wright, Nunn, and Tyng also batted finely. Thayer and Nunn fielded finely, while Wright and Latham played their bases with their usual perfection. Ripley and Brown did their best for Yale, and played a fine up-hill game. Carter was well backed up by Ives, the former's delivery having a decidedly erratic tendency, and consequently being hard to handle without errors...
