Teepee and 23 other Indians filed a petition with Judge G. N. Risjord asking clemency for Mrs. Beauregard, stating that she loved her husband & eleven children, that she was not responsible for deserting them, that the love charm was infallible, that it had been procured from a medicine man, that real Indian medicine men had "almost supernatural powers."
