Landau recalled the days of the incomparable Bob Rittenberg. He plagued Eli coach Bob Giegengack all afternoon, as he entered and won four events for 20 points. More important, however, was the fact that he led Crimson sweeps of both dashes. Landau first won the 100-yard dash in 10.1 seconds, followed closely by Sandy Dodge and Lee Barnes. Captain Bob Rittenberg was Coach Bill McCurdy's high scorer in the close meet where six records were broken. He captured the 60 yard high hurdles in 7.5 seconds. After taking the hurdles, Rittenberg jumped 23 ft., 6 2/4 inches to place second in the broad jump. Finishing a very productive afternoon, the senior tied for third in the high jump.
