...Schools of Applied Science of Technology and Harvard has never been intentionally cutthroat, but its effect, nevertheless, has been to lower the efficiency of each institution in the field of science. That rich phrase, reduplication of effort, has always pointed an accusing finger at the obvious waste of rival educational institutions serving the same community. ...improvement on the whole over the old ones. The opinions of several leading basketball authorities were published in the News on Tuesday on the reasons for the perceptibly waning interest in the game at Yale, and the prospects for awakening enthusiasm were discussed. Yale turned the tables on Wesleyan yesterday at New Haven in the opening game of the season by defeating her rival 21 to 0. Last year Wesleyan was victorious by the score of 9 to 3. As yesterday's score indicates, Yale had a very easy time of it. Her backs made many long runs, advancing almost at will. Substitutions were frequent...
