Marvin, who usually rows at 7 on the fist crew, was absent and Captain Thomson, who rows at 6, is at present in Philadelphia suffering from a bad cold. The two crews rowed about twenty minutes each and were coached by Captain Bullard. They will go on the river tomorrow, if not today. Yesterday afternoon the senior crew rowed on the river in four-oared barges, starting from the Weld Boat Club. Two crews went out, one early in the afternoon consisting of R. K. Fox, stroke; G. S. Derby, 3; H. Addison, 2; H. G. Dorman, bow; the other later made up of W. Greenough, stroke; M. Lincoln, 3; B. Frothingham, 2; J. C. Fairchild, bow. Fennessy coached one crew and Captain Forbes the other. The crew will continue to row in fours until the water is high enough to get the ninety-six eightoared barge from the 'varsity boat house...
Last evening it was announced by Captain Bullard that the 'varsity crew would not go out on the river for a day or so, since the barge has not yet been rigged up, and the floats are not in position...
