...Saturday afternoon the second University crew defeated the third and fourth crews in a fast and exciting race on the Charles River. At the finish the second boat led the third by something less than half a length; the fourth boat was over a length behind the third. The time made was excellent, the course of nearly one and seven-eighths miles being covered in 9 minutes, 12 seconds.
