...other University and Freshman crews were able to row from Newell Boat Club yesterday, and with the exception of a few floating cakes, the river was clear of ice. The Freshman crews will change their lockers from Newell to Weld Boat Club today, and in the future all Freshman crews will row from this club. ...first four Freshman crews had their first row on the Charles River yesterday afternoon. Since the ice is still blocked in front of Newell Boat Club, all crews rowed from Weld Boat Club, the stretch from the Anderson Bridge to the Western Avenue Bridge being clear.
