Says Stephen Roach, chief economist for Morgan Stanley: "There is not one shred of credible evidence on how Dole will pay for his plan. Fully 65% of the revenue breaks are to be financed by nothing more than wishful thinking. This is as vague as it gets...

...increasingly inaccurate title is an Iowa boy trying to make it in a decidedly bad New York City, where violence is so rampant that the population number falls before our eyes. In perhaps the most implausible sequence even of this movie, he lands a rent-controlled--and roach-controlled--apartment. "You'll be scared," warned veteran organizer Lois Elbornetti. "But don't worry, just have fun." The students had to "roach" the nonunion store--they entered en masse, headed for the back, then spread like cockroaches. They quickly handed out leaflets with the phone number of the United Food & Commercial Workers to all employees. And got out fast. The plan went like clockwork, with angry managers shouting, "Get them out of here...
