Nonetheless, the president's recent appointment of Professor of Government Robert D. Putnam--a highly respected political scholar praised for his integrity--as the school's new dean, is a sign that Bok truly wants the Kennedy School, which many regard as his personal legacy, to rededicate itself to its original mission.
