ELTON JOHN is starting to remind us of that curmudgeonly relative who blurts out what everyone else is really thinking at the family reunion. While accepting a songwriting award in London last week, the elder rocker, 57, griped that he couldn't believe Madonna had been nominated for best live act. "Since when has lip synching been live?" John asked. "Madonna, best [expletive] live act? [Expletive] off." Last month John called a group of Taiwanese paparazzi who ambushed him "rude, vile pigs." And last spring he called the reality show American Idol "racist" after two black contestants were eliminated...
...American men contract prostate cancer at some point in their life. And although there is no shortage of famous people who have succumbed to the disease--punk rocker Johnny Ramone, who died at age 55 two weeks ago, immediately comes to mind--there are also plenty of prominent survivors, including John Kerry (who had his prostate removed) and Rudy Giuliani (who opted for radiation therapy). In another a man cruises a fellow traveler for a quickie inside an Egyptian temple. But, lacking...

While the record companies work things out, we'd like to suggest a compromise: recruit brunet rocker Ashlee Simpson (sister of more famous Jessica) for a trio...
...biggest hit ever: Johnny Hallyday, France's most popular rock star, last week secured ownership of his personal catalog of some 3,500 songs spanning 43 years from his longtime record label, Universal Music. A Paris court sided with the 61-year-old rocker's claims that the company cheated him by offering a series of favorable loans, and then held debts over his head as a bargaining tool. Hallyday could receive 350 million in damages, though Universal is appealing. "It's like if Elvis Presley decided to sue his producer when he was alive," says Jacques Verrecchia, Hallyday...
