COMBINING THE TALENTS of Dudley Moore and Mary Steenburgen with those of veteran director Arthur Hiller would seem to promise, if not quite the "very different love story" described by the director, at least an effervescent romp in the style of Arthur. Unfortunately, neither Moore's broguish charm nor Steenburgen's poignant spaciness can save Romantic Comedy from its writer and director. Rather, the actors' valiant attempts to save the show make it all the more perturbing to watch. Observing cast members with their flies inadvertently unzipped for an hour and a half would, in fact, provide a comparable level...
...should top managers deal with this problem? If this appears to be a "purely sexual, transitory affair," the best advice is to ignore it in the hope that one executive or the other "will soon tire of the romp." True love, whatever its virtues, is a more difficult issue. Collins' ultimate solution is for the lower-ranking executive to leave the company, although the person should be given help in finding another job. ...with all great rivalries, more legends surround The Game than Evelyn Wood could read in a lifetime. Last year's contest will enter the history book for two reasons. Harvard's 45-7 romp set a school record for points scored against Yale. And a Massachusetts Institute of Technology fraternity prank--in which a hydraulically-powered-balloon bearing the Tech's initials popped out of turf in the middle of the game--set an MIT record for most points scored against Harvard. This year's classic will be special as the 100th playing of The Game...

Relegating the central political figures of the Revolution to the periphery of his film, Scola focuses on a lively troupe of contemporary notables, who talk and romp their way across the French countryside from Paris to Varennes in a characteristically French blend of the serious and the comic...
Harvard played like a champion Saturday, controlling the opener from the first inning enroute to an 8-3 romp and demonstrating its poise in the nightcap by staving off a late Big Green charge and rebounding to a 12-6, nine-inning victory. "We were within an inch of losing [the second game]," Captain Brad Bauer said...
