...Ross G. Douthat ’02 is a good guy whose columns I have enjoyed on many occasions. Nevertheless, I find it amusing that Douthat, who has probably never been exposed to danger a single time in his life, sees fit to fault the Bush administration for its “zero casualty” logic in his column “Appeasing the Chinese” (Opinion, April 16). ...best part of the Swiss system is that it is student, parent and business driven. No bureaucrat armed with a state mandated aptitude test makes these decisions for them. What better way to encourage parental involvement; let the parents and students decide for themselves. I agree with Ross G. Douthat ’02 that it will never happen. But I can dream, can?...
