...work to be done this fall on the extension to the Rotch Mining Laboratory is practically completed. The nine muffle-furnaces for fire assaying in the south end of the extension are finished, except for the flue which is to be placed above them. The room into which they open is also completed and is now being fitted out. This part of the extension will be used this fall in Mining 10. The blast furnaces, to be placed in the north side, will not be built till spring...
