...preliminary heats of the interscholastic boat races were rowed on the Charles Saturday afternoon. The course was a little less than a mile, starting just above Harvard Bridge and finishing at the Union Boat Club. Rough water and the hard rain made good rowing difficult. The first heat was won by Brookline High School with Waltham High second. Hopkinson won the second heat easily, after a very poor start, and Brown and Nichols finished second.
