...There are two principles which are constantly dinned into the ear of the goiter which I would apply to Mr. Secretary Hughes' proposal now. The first is, follow through. The second is, keep your eye on the ball. It might get lost. You are playing in rough country, full of bankers, part of it a wilderness. There are some who might try and get the ball into the rough and once it is there they might even substitute another. Follow through. Keep your eye on the ball, once you have begun. And if you do that I believe this great...

Comparison of the Orchestra with that of Boston is inevitable. While the New York band has a much fresher and more limpid tone in the strings, the wind section, especially the brass is harsh and rough. Mr. van Hoogstraten is clear and incisive, a conductor of compelling dynamics and deep insight. His reading of the symphony was especially capable and muscianly, his interpretation of the third movement (allegro molto vivace) a triumph although it seems to us that he missed much of the flowing grace of the Allegro congrazia. The original draft intended apparently to be used as a newspaper interview but afterwards changed over in Mr. Roosevelt's hand to the form of a letter to his commanding officer, is shown in one of the cases. This manuscript, the cartoons...

But it is not probable that he will resort to the old fashioned system of "fight week", when all the members of the squad worked themselves into a frenzy and then proceeded to tear each other to pieces. Without doubt such an event would put new energy into the team. But coming on the eve of the Dartmouth game with a series of hard games in sight, such a strenuous experiment might...
