...longer than their predecessors did. Even so, no one questions the extraordinarily high caliber of recent Australian sides, which have recharged as well as dominated the Test scene. As he settled into international cricket in the early '90s, Warne discredited the prevailing view that the only way to rout batting line-ups was to bowl fast at them. With his growing mastery of what had been the dying art of leg-spin, he reminded us that batsmen could be killed softly with archaic weapons like flight, drift and spin. Compatriots of yesteryear wish he'd arrived sooner...
...jumper and the accompanying free throw to make it 6-5, Coleman connected on a three pointer, and guard Dion Harris followed suit to make it 11-5 Michigan. After two jumpers by forward Ekpe Udoh, guard Reed Baker nailed another three to make it 18-8, and the rout was on.The Crimson was prevented from staying in the game by its mishandling of the basketball in the face of the swarming Michigan defense. In Yale’s season-opening loss to San Diego, the Toreros’ mobile quarterback, Josh Johnson, torched the Bulldogs defense for five touchdowns in a 43-17 rout. O’Hagan is a two-way threat cut from a similar cloth, able to stand and deliver like Princeton senior Jeff Terrell did in the Tigers’ comeback win in New Haven last Saturday or make plays with his feet, scrambling to stay alive and find the inevitable...
Unfortunately, this gathering is only biannual. Every off-year Harvard sends a group of students into the heart of the Yale colony for a mission of hope, but nothing is being done to try to rout out Yale at its roots. It must be understood that Yale is a socially transmitted disease, and the only way to cure it is to cultivate a change in social behavior. It is disheartening and sickening that today in America some children are still being taught that going to Yale is a good thing. Decades of empirical data have revealed this idea for what...
