James Follen, known to Harvard men for many years as "Jimmy," gymnasium attendant and rubber, died suddenly at his home in Cambridge on September 13, after thirty-two years' connection with University athletics. His service began in 1879 when he was engaged as an attendant in the Gymnasium opened in that year. Later he was appointed janitor of the Gymnasium, which position he held until Soldiers Field was opened. At that time he took charge of the Locker Building, where he has been ever since.
