...last year's Yale crew have been completed and distributed. They are in the form of a cigar cutter, of Roman gold. On one side, in bas-relief, is a raised facsimile of the flags won in the race. Lying across the flags are represented an oar and rudder. On the reverse side is the following inscription: "1889, Yale versus Harvard, won by Yale."
