...RUMOR has reached us that there is much indignation among the graduating class at the unwarrantable action of President Eliot in calling in the service of the police on Commencement night; that it was utterly unnecessary, and was a direct insult by degrading the class to the level of so many criminals. ...RUMOR has latterly prevailed to a considerable extent among undergraduates, that the cataloguing of books at the Library was to be abandoned henceforth, and that the requisite information was to be given by persons suitably qualified for the purpose.
