After the British Cabinet last July had secretly decided to offer Czecho-Slovakia on the altar of Appeasement, Viscount Runciman was sent to Prague as an "unofficial mediator" to arrange a "peaceful settlement" to the Sudeten German problem. Lord Runciman was eminently successful. Last week, on his way home from a world-circling vacation trip, he arrived in Montreal, Quebec, was questioned by newshawks on his availability as a mediator in the current Danzig dispute.
