...dire warnings about applying to a certain exploitative travel guide company this spring. If you too have been seduced by the apparent wonders of getting-paid-to-travel, at least don't do it Andrea-style. This is the message: Keep reevaluating. Don't get stuck in the rut of mindless achievement, a routine that we are all so undeniably good at. Intrepid explorations in gorgeous foreign lands should not feel like a never-ending Core paper...

...that lion and lioness sunbathing on Pride Rock look close enough...well, close enough to eat you. But they are separated from the tram by an unseen gulch too wide for the beasts to straddle. The savanna where they roam was once drab cow pasture, but every weed and rut has been meticulously contoured and art-directed to resemble an African plain. Disney's Imagineers did a convincing makeover. When Franklin Sonn, the South African ambassador to the U.S., saw the place last month, he said, "This is the bush veldt. This is my home...

...Chablis...well, it just goes to show that strange truth is always better than contrived fiction. Playing her(?)self, The Lady mugs shamelessly but never falls into self-parody, deftly avoiding the cartoonish rut that claims other characters. Her authenticity is refreshing, and I found myself wishing Kelso would hook up with Chablis instead of Mandy--it would have been more in tune with the spirit of the story. In any case, you will emerge from the movie theater with an entirely different attitude towards the words, "hide my candy...
