...Brown, not Eight Belles, but I was still taken slightly aback when I read "after Eight Belles ... racing needs a feel-good equine story in the worst way" [June 9]. What racing needs is for the "kings" of this "sport of kings" to pull their heads out of the sand and take stock of what's going on. This isn't a game. There are animals' lives on the line.
