Under heavy pressure from NATO, the U.N., President Clinton and -- most important -- their Russian allies, the Bosnian Serbs pledged their compliance with a NATO ultimatum to either withdraw their weapons from within a 12-mile radius of Sarajevo or turn them over to U.N. peacekeepers.
