...criticising here the action of the University Boat-Club in challenging Cornell, but simply the Era's manner of receiving the challenge. Cornell has not yet recovered from the evil effects of the management of her papers during the last years of the Intercollegiate races at Saratoga, and now seems to be relapsing. To charge a sister college with mean subterfuges and "sporting dodges" argues a very low sort of spirit indeed, and we hope to see no more of such criticisms. It does not speak very well for the Editors of the Era that they should so misinterpret...
