This MIT sophomore is now dreaming daily at the Carpenter Center for the general public. Admission is free. He sleeps behind a glass panel, under satin sheets that a sign says are designed to "conceal and reveal" his sleeping form. Viewers are asked to remove their shoes before they enter--the floor is spongy and feels dreamy to walk on. The sleeping subject behind the glass has his brain and body activity constantly monitored, and readings are displayed on a large screen next to him. ...sleeveless corselettes have been selling like $140 hotcakes at his Saks Fifth Avenue and Bonwit Teller outlets. Camisoles are just as popular. Says a buyer at Chicago's Marshall Field: "We are selling all we have." ...Star is Born shows the beautiful people in rare form. Not once during the film does either star have a shirt buttoned above the navel. The clothes are mostly of satin, sequins and silk.
