...cricket men are seldom left to work unobserved, but the crew men are apparently forgotten by the college, and go on in their work with only such support as may come from their own self-approval. It used to be a well established custom among our undergraduates to saunter down to the boat-house, and lounge away the long spring afternoons with a book and a pipe, watching the arrival and departure of the crews, and good naturedly criticising their merits and defects.
