...published this morning a letter from the president of the University Boat Club concerning the projected race with Harvard College. He complains that the College boat clubs shows a disinclination to give financial support, and suggests the raising of a subscription in the university. The letter goes on to say; "It would be a great opportunity for drawing the two universities closer together, even though it is only through a boat club. I am sure nothing but good could result to us from having a more intimate connection with the university which represents all that is best in American culture...
