...when the 60-year-old Titian was one of the best-known painters in Europe, the 30-year-old Tintoretto staked his claim to dominance with Miracle of the Slave, a tour de force crowd scene (not included in the Boston show) that he shrewdly unveiled while Titian was away from Venice so that the old man couldn't mobilize local opinion against it. With Tintoretto, the harmony and serenity of Bellini are entirely a thing of the past. Figures whirl, somersault and lunge like darts in and out of the picture. The palette is iridescent, and at close range...
...Take Slasher, for example, Allison Moore's comedy about an Austin, Texas, waitress who gets picked to play the last girl killed in a low-budget slasher film. Moore shows a real feel for the milieu: the Austin independent filmmaking scene, where cowboy film geeks meet up with cheeseball Hollywood wannabes. The encounter in which the film's hack director (a brilliantly smarmy Mark Setlock) discovers his star, Sheena, in a Hooters-style hangout, enlists her for his film and promptly gets rolled by her in contract negotiations, is as sharp and modulated a satire of Hollywood hucksterism as anything...

"I remember loafers with pennies in them." "I remember game rooms...

Find out more on how to land a life long partner after the jump...
Although the Harvard dating scene pretty much ranges from minimum to awkward to nonexistent, it's no secret that many still view Harvard as a breeding ground for legacy babies. Many female prospectives get starry-eyed just thinking about Harvard. And no, they aren’t dreaming of 4-years of HUDS eating, Orgo midterms, or beautiful New England weather. Instead, they're contemplating that ravishingly handsome Harvard boy who will whisk them away into a lifetime of I-Banking (insert financial crisis joke here), supported vacations in Monaco, stylish lofts on the Upper East side, a golden retriever...
