...action of the committee, as Dean Briggs phrased it, is "highly commendable." Strictly honorable methods are frequently lost sight of, particularly among school teams. And it is with just these teams that the "Football Code" is likely to have the greatest effect. If schoolboy players learn that unfair methods are discountenanced by lovers of the game, if they are taught clean and honest tactics instead of questionable ones, there will be less abuse on the part of "outsiders," more honesty on the part of those who play, and a higher standard in the game itself...
...attendance at camps such as these is made obligatory for the young men of the nation, when the farmer's boy and the banker's boy, the son of the brakeman or mill worker and the son of the manufacturer or railroad president, the college boy and the public schoolboy rub shoulders together in military training, share the same dog-tents and recognize the equality of obligation that rests upon them all, the fibre of democracy in this country will have been immeasurably strengthened...

The closest contest of the afternoon was that between A. Lippitt '19 and C. D. Murray '19 in the Novice singles, which the latter won by the small margin of one foot...
...entry lists include a large number of prominent schoolboy athletes and the meet should be more successful than ever. Whalen of Exeter in the high-jump, O'Connell of Exeter in the mile, and Marling of Huntington School in the 880-yard run are among the entrants who are well known in schoolboy ranks. Exeter won the meet last spring, but it is doubtful in view of the other strong teams whether it can repeat again this year...
