...another well-developed trait, and after every Harvard game the boys had a lot of fun parodying the Cambridge accent, even those with very little English attempting the broad A At that however, Harvard was the Indian idea of perfection and, whether on the football field or in the schoolroom, anything very good was always commented on as 'Harvard style'". --Harvard Alumni Bulletin
Evidently a first-rate cryptographer, Yardley gives a fascinating account of the deciphering of messages between Germany and Mexico, and of dispatches which brought a death sentence to Pablo Waberski. Anyone who has slipped notes between schoolroom desks or fancied "The Gold Bug" will enjoy clear expositions of the decipherment of codes which,--enciphered, transposed, and with "nulls" sprinkled through them--seem quite unassailable to the layman. For six years the Los Angeles has served the Navy well as a flying laboratory and schoolroom. With two big new dirigibles, one of which will be ready in June, abuilding at Akron expressly for military use, the Navy wanted to have the Los Angeles scout experimentally with the fleet. For this, the express permission of Great Britain, France and Japan was necessary. Last week, permission granted, orders...
