Familiar-sounding facts presented once more to its public by Schoolmart and Schoolview last week: 3,000,000 children were denied schooling last winter; 1,000 schools closed; the nation's education budget was pared from two and one-quarter billions to one and three-quarters; one-quarter of the country's 247,000 public schools need modernizing.
