Smith girls, drifting into pretty Northampton for college's opening last week, found the place in a town v. gown stew. A. Burns Chalmers, the college's pacifistic Quaker chaplain, is host to a 27-year-old mathematical physicist, Schuichi Kusaka, born in Japan, newly appointed to the Smith faculty.
