Neither side made anything in the seventh. In the eighth inning Princeton made one more run on errors by Phillips and Crocker. For Harvard, Phillips scored on a base hit, a steal and two passed balls. Princeton failed to improve their score in the ninth and so the game closed with the score 15 to 3 in Harvard's favor...

After some delay the ball was again faced and Yale in a few minutes scored a second goal by a shot of twombly. Rueter made an attempt to stop it, but Spencer, of Yale, got his nose in the way so that the ball went through the poles, and Spencer, although saving the day for Yale, had a violent nose-bleed.
