Fashion is a fickle thing but it seems mass nudity will never go out of style. Twice a year at the stroke of midnight, Harvardians abandon their clothes to participate in Primal Scream. A bunch of Harvard students—who at any other moment would have been clad to the teeth and too cold to give you the time of day—run, jog and saunter around the Yard in their birthdays’ finest...

...turns out: yes, uh-huh, yup and not often (there’s just something about mass nudity of non-porn stars that lacks je ne sais quoi). Just up the Red Line, Tufts students participate in an event similar to Primal Scream. Every fall on the Sunday before reading period, students gather on the Tufts quad to cheer on fellow student streakers. The undergraduates are often joined by townies who bring video cameras to commemorate the event. “There are hundreds of people that do it,” says Jeffrey J. Fox, a Tufts junior...

...stun gun, the Advanced Taser M-18L, looks like a pistol. But instead of firing bullets, it shoots tethered darts that hook into the skin or clothes. Victims typically scream in pain and writhe on the floor until the shock subsides--usually within a minute. Heavy-duty tasers are already used by more than 1,000 police departments in the U.S.; United Airlines just bought 1,300. And now Taser, sensing a new market opportunity in post-Sept. 11 anxiety, is launching its first models aimed at ordinary citizens. Prices start...

...rapidly expanding nu-metal field is that the band's six members--Bennington, Hahn, 24, rapper Mike Shinoda, 24, guitarist Brad Delson, 24, bassist Phoenix (just Phoenix, thanks), 24, and drummer Rob Bourdon, 23--inject nearly everything they do (save their songs) with a sweetly humanistic approach. They may scream "Shut up when I'm talking to you" like misunderstood demons, but they don't wear goth makeup, cut themselves onstage, objectify women or encourage kids to "break stuff," as Limp Bizkit infamously did at Woodstock '99. They are earnest, middle-class guys who sign autographs until the arena lights...

Kevin Williamson's ideas just sound like money. The man who created Dawson's Creek and wrote the movies Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer has the ability to think like a teenager and a marketing executive at the same time. His concept for Glory Days (the WB, Wednesdays, 9 p.m. E.T.) is flawless: if the only reason Murder, She Wrote isn't still on the air is that its viewers brought in only Depend commercials, then make a Murder, She Wrote for teens. The lead character here is dark but likable young mystery novelist Mike Dolan...
