...more than 30 years and helped with the production of several Disney animated movies. Now my daughter (an avid Star Wars fan) is helping digitally restore the Disney films her grandfather worked on. When I was growing up, I was so proud to see the Technicolor logo on the screen. And today when I see my daughter's name in the credits, I am just as proud. I don't understand Hollywood's reluctance to go digital. Perhaps younger producers will embrace Lucas' vision...

I hope Hollywood doesn't have to choose between digital or film but can combine them to enhance the image on the screen. After all, shouldn't technology be used to serve art? ...Honey We're Killing the Kids! (debuts April 10), nutritionist Dr. Lisa Hark visits a family with bad eating and exercise habits. The money scene comes when Dr. Hark leads the parents into a stage that looks like a medieval catacomb and shows them, on a giant TV screen, computer projections of what their kids will look like at age 40 if they keep gorging on sugar and fried food. In the pilot, the parents watch, horrified, as their three sons morph and swell into pallid, pimply, ill-groomed tubs who look vaguely like serial killers. For some reason...
...someone who has tested many portable navigators, I first noticed the clarity and crispness of the screen - not just the LCD panel but the graphics that appeared on it. Sony appears to have paid a higher degree of attention to the graphical user interface than any of its competitors. Given a few minutes to acclimate myself with the device, I soon learned how to input destinations or find points of interest. I especially liked the fact that I could search by zip code as well - you don?t have to know a zip code...
...Another funny thing was that when you set the screen view to the 3D driver?s perspective, the names of roads don?t appear. Sony personnel acknowledged this, but didn?t seem to realize how useful it can be to read the names of roads, even when you?re not actively seeking turn-by-turn directions...
