...several years previous to last year the baseball management offered a number of cups to be competed for by amateur or "scrub" nines. The amateur championship contests were always lively and exciting, and often resulted in developing men for the class teams. There are many men in the University who are fond of the game, but who do not play well enough to try for the 'varsity or class nines.
