Entries for the scrub hockey series will close this evening at 6 o'clock, if the weather remains cold during the day, the drawings being made tonight and the games starting tomorrow. If, however, it is warm enough to destroy the prospect of ice, the entry-books will remain at Leavitt & Peirce's until Friday at 6 o'clock as announced yesterday. Two rinks will probably be built on the river, and there are already two on Soldiers Field. These will accommodate a series of many more than the 15 teams which have now entered...
With excellent prospects for good ice it is unfortunate that the number of scrub hockey teams is comparatively few. If the weather remains cold the entry-book at Leavitt's will close this evening. A few more teams would greatly help toward a successful season and men who wish to play should hasten to find associates in signing the entry-book...

Owing to the fact that the ice at present will not allow outdoor rinks, the closing time for entering the scrub hockey series has been extended to 5 o'clock on Friday of this week. The committee, however, reserves the right to close the entries at 5 o'clock on Wednesday if the weather makes out door hockey possible. Friday of this week will in any case be absolutely the last chance to enter the series. The blue books are still at Leavitt & Peirce's, and more than the present 14 teams are needed to make the series a success...
