...14th we played the first game of the season with the Bostons. The Bostons put in Bond and Brown as pitcher and catcher, and J. White right field. The fielding was good on both sides. Leeds, Tyng, and Thayer distinguished themselves at the bat. The game would have resulted in a closer score if we had had the luck to hit a ball when these men were on the bases, but our base-hits always came in when they did the least good.
