...Nine played their first match of the season with the Bostons on the Union Grounds last Saturday. On account of the condition of Jarvis, the Nine were unable to get any practice during the week, and even if they had, the Bostons grounds were in such a state that it would have benefited them little. The match during the first six innings was very interesting and closely contested.
