...Season tickets, at $2 each, are on sale at Leavitt & Peirce's, the Co-operative, Amee's and at Wright & Ditson's in Boston. These tickets may be bought by the public, and each person may buy as many as he desires. They, however, do not admit to the Cornell, Dartmouth or Yale games. The tickets for these games will be sold by application in the same way as Yale game seats were issued last year. Application blanks will be issued later and special announcements of sales for the last three games will be made at that time...
Yale started the season with poor prospects. Two members of last year's university eight, last year's substitutes, and the members of the freshman crew formed a nucleus for the 1909 crew. Until after the two-mile race with Pennsylvania, in which Yale was defeated, there was the problem of finding a stroke. Captain Howe was tried, but was found to be too heavy and slow for the position. After the race Wallis, who stroked Yale's winning university four last year, was put in at stroke, Howe returning to his old seat at 6. The other places were...
...race at Ithaca on May 31, it was simply defeated by an all-round superior crew, and contrary to popular opinion rowed very well. The crew is heavier than the average Freshman crew, and is especially fortunate in having as good a stroke as Newton. The Yale...

Owing to the formation of the Varsity Club the Union has lost the training tables, a loss which has materially decreased the income of the restaurant. About 600 volumes have been added to the library, which now has a total of over 9800 volumes. Nearly one-fourth of the books added have been acquired, by gifts, a much larger number than usual...
...baseball team gave proof yesterday of the quality which has been characteristic of it throughout the season--hard fighting. With the score 2 to 0 against them, and with one bad inning behind them, the men were never unsettled; they played hard and fast, and they played to win. Harvard's pitchers were the better and the Harvard team the steadier. In the words of one of the Yale players, "Harvard had the better team, but Yale had the luck to start with"; the element of luck which favored Yale at the outset was counterbalanced by Harvard's luck later...
