...standout season. Batting at a .274 clip, she pounded out 37 hits, 11 for extra-bases, and picked up a spot on the All-Ivy honorable mention team. Her leadership, along with that of co-captain Michelle McAteer, was invaluable to a team that relied heavily on younger players, especially on the mound. Halpenny nurtured the Crimson pitching staff, most notably helping sophomore ace Amanda Watkins earn All-Ivy second-team honors.LOOK MA, TWO HANDS On a squad with freshman wide receiver Alex Breaux (below) and sophomore quarterback Liam O’Hagan, the leadership of seniors like captain Erik...
Even with injuries limiting him, Seamus McKiernan was The Man. The Harvard men's volleyball co-captain, an EIVA All-East second-team selection a year ago, continued to punish opposing defenses in 2006, leading the Crimson in total kills and kills per game. The senior finished 10th in the EIVA in kills per game despite being slowed during much of the season by a nagging shoulder injury. While the score mattered little, the game offered important insight into some of Harvard?...

As a frosh, he actually hit .331, third on the team. But his high school career set the bar torturously, though arguably not impossibly, high. And thus far, all audiences have gotten are flickers of an extraordinary talent...
