The subjects will be the translation of the specified portions of Greek and Latin authors supposed to have been read by the candidates, and the translation of Greek and Latin at sight. The examinations in Greek and Latin composition will be postponed until the end of the term, and will then take the place of final examinations in Greek 4 and Latin 3, counting both for honors and for the year's mark in those courses...

...begun to correct the examination-books, and does not know when he will begin, - implying that he is by no means troubled by the delay. Perhaps this unjust treatment might be endurable but for the fact that many of his men make their course in regard to second-year honors dependent, in great measure, upon the results of his examination. To them, every moment is precious, since the time that remains for their special work in classics is short.
